Mutriku, a municipality in the province of Guipúzcoa, Basque Country. It is located on the shores of the Cantabrian Sea on the boundary with Vizcaya. Belonging to the Bajo Deva region with a population of 4,752 inhabitants.

Motrico occupies the norocidental limit of Guipúzcoa and of the region to which it belongs, yet not strictly being in the basin of the Deva, who is in a small independent basin. It extends from the mouth of the Artibai to the one of Deva being the urban core equidistant between the two points. Its coasts are cliffs where two small bays open, one is where the town center and the harbor are located and the other shared with Ondárroa,is formed by the mouth of Artibai, where the largest beach opens, the beach Saturrarán.

Urdaibai, Reserva de la Biosfera

Secluded from the ocean and sheltered from the Bay of Biscay, Urdaibai is nestled on the Atlantic side of the Basque Country, in the north of the Iberian Peninsula. It is formed by several valleys, overturned the sea through an estuary in which a complete representation of the typical environments of the Cantabrian Coast endures . From the cliffs and beaches of the coast to the forests and rivers of the interior, through the marshes and river valleys, it probably offers the greatest landscape and ecological diversity of the Basque Country, harboring species of undoubted natural value.

In late 1984 Urdaibai is declared Biosphere Reserve, with the primary objective of conserving natural systems, biodiversity and ensuring the rational use of its resources.

Located in the Busturialdea region, it allows you to enjoy the historic town of Gernika ( www.gernika - lumo.net ), the beaches of Laida and Laga, the seaside towns of Mundaka, with its famous left hand wave for surfers and Elantxobe as well as the spectacular landscape in which the chapel of Gaztelugatxe and the remnants of the Basque ancestors in Santimamiñe caves.

Vista aérea de Lekeitio


The town of Lekeitio is one of the wonders of the coast of the Basque Country. It is located on the eastern coast of the province of Bizkaia. It is 55 Km from Bilbao, 22 from Gernika and 72 from Donostia. It has road links to Ondarroa, Markina and Gernika.

Situated in the Lea-Artibai district, it occupies 1.8 Km2. Bordering on the North with the sea, on the South and West with Ispaster and the East with Mendexa.

Lekeitio is built in the side of mounts Otoio and Lumentza, which softly slopes down to the sea. The river Lea, which becomes an estuary, flows into the sea between the beaches of Isuntza and Karraspio, with the island of San Nicolás on the left. The beach named Karraspio, the island of San Nicolas, its fishing harbour, the bars, restaurants, its varied gastronomy and the friendly atmosphere of its people make of Lekeitio a village that is is really worth visiting.

Ea (also named Ie in Basque) is a municipality and town in the northeastern coast of the province of Biscay, 50 km from capital Bilbao, with 870 inhabitants.

The Ea River forms a narrow estuary at its mouth, in which the town is encased, with houses in narrow streets lined parallel to the river and a small old bridge over the channel. The small beach and the fishing shelter are protected at the bottom of the river, which runs out of water at low tide.

The Flysch of Zumaia is one of the most important and spectacular outcrops of the world and represents an open book in the history of the Earth.

A pedestrian promenade west of Zumaia takes us away from the town center and brings us to a stunning environment. Under the Chapel of San Telmo, patron saint of sailors, a beautiful beach appears, as isolated from the madding crowd, protected by spectacular vertical rock strata.

The Itzurun beach, from which on a clear day much of the coast of Bizkaia is observed, is a splendid setting to reconcile with the world. Besides beauty, Itzurun brings health, since the high concentration of iodine waters and dark sand has beneficial properties.

Txakoli is a white, young and fruity wine. It has got Moderate alcohol (9.5 º - 11.5 º) and a slight characteristic acidity. It is a very distinctive and differentiated wine. It should be served cool and together with with small needles of carbon, the result of its unique production, it gives off its full range of aromas.

This route along its vineyards path covers the Txakoli bodegas, offering the opportunity to visit, taste and buy our wine. It is covered by the Designation of Origin Getariako Txakolina located Getaria.

San Sebastian (Donostia in Basque) is a city located in the north, on the coast of the Bay of Biscay and near the border with France, capital of the province of Gipuzkoa in the Basque Country. Its population is 184,248 inhabitants (2008), and its metropolitan area reaches 405,099.

Its main economic activities are commerce and tourism, making it one of the most important tourist destinations in Spain. The landscape, dominated by the Bay of La Concha, as well as it modern architectural development initiated in the second half of the nineteenth century, who set a city of bourgeois French court, led to the development of tourism at European level.

Bilbao is a major economic and cultural focus of the north of the peninsula and an architectural and artistic international reference whose business card is the famous Guggenheim Museum, offering visitors numerous and varied proposals for leisure and culture.
