Donostia-San Sebastian

San Sebastian (Donostia in Basque) is a city located in the north, on the coast of the Bay of Biscay and near the border with France, capital of the province of Gipuzkoa in the Basque Country. Its population is 184,248 inhabitants (2008), and its metropolitan area reaches 405,099.

Its main economic activities are commerce and tourism, making it one of the most important tourist destinations in Spain. The landscape, dominated by the Bay of La Concha, as well as it modern architectural development initiated in the second half of the nineteenth century, who set a city of bourgeois French court, led to the development of tourism at European level.
